Summer is harder than I thought

Just checking in again. I didn’t realize how a change in my routine and summer would affect my journey. I love how there is more daylight and that gives me more time to workout but the summer heat has made it much more difficult to be motivated to get out there and do it! It’s also been a very stressful time these past 2 weeks. We had a plumbing issue, wifi issue, and other issues in the house with people coming in and out.

Plus other things going on, bored kids, etc. I’ve been exhausted! I’ve been in a plateau for several weeks now. I had a small loss here and there, but otherwise just staying in the same 3-4 lb range. That’s good news for being able to maintain, but I still want to lose at least 20 more pounds to hit the goal I put in my scale app and be at a healthy BMI.

My son and hubby told me not to lose any more and that I look healthy now. Hubby says I should just switch to toning and building muscle already and losing more will make my metabolism drop and I’ll look weak and skeletal. I did notice my hair is starting to fall out a lot lately. I started taking hair vitamins like collagen and folic acid a month ago. It seems to help but I’m still losing hair. I have lost about an inch of length.

I did a google search and that usually happens with quick weight loss or people who get weight loss surgery/don’t get enough protein. I know I haven’t been hitting the recommended protein so I will have to work on that. It’s funny, because I got so stressed and annoyed with the scale that I took a break this week and skipped some workouts. I ended up losing a pound this week. Crazy! For next week, I’m going to focus on finding what works for me now at this new weight range. Most importantly, I don’t want to re-gain weight back. Ideally, I’d like to lose half to 1 pound per week for the summer. Time of month is coming, so I’m not getting my hopes up.
