week 5: Preparing for Thanksgiving

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next Thursday! Wasn’t it just the beginning of the month? This is crazy! It was a great week, the kids had Friday off for Veterans day so I slipped in an extra long workout and went up the giant hill of doom lol. The view was worth it though!

It was a great workout! I love this area because there are a ton of hills that challenged me more. It started out kind of dark and cold. By the end, I was sweating and feeling the endorphins flowing!

I’m nervous because there will be a lot of food and family around and the temptations kind of go crazy during holiday get togethers. The good thing is the kids are off of school for the week so I will have time to fit in my workouts and even add some extra time to plan for the Thanksgiving meal calories! In the past, what worked for me was to get a small spoonful of everything on the table so I can have a taste of everything. Then, usually I’m pretty full and have the willpower to stop. But if not, I can get a small spoonful of what I liked the best. In the past, I have lost weight during Thanksgiving by doing this and am planning on doing it again this year!

Hubby surprised me this week with a new jacket! I’ve been complaining for weeks about how winter is coming and I need to keep my workouts up. Well, he came home with a new one. It is super warm! The only bummer is, it doesn’t zip yet. I was pretty bummed out because my old jacket is a large and zips but the new one is XL and won’t come together at all. I keep telling myself to use this as motivation to keep going. I WILL MAKE IT ZIP!! When? Not sure. But I’m gonna keep pushing!

Love seeing the downward trend!

All of the hard work paid off this week and I lost 3 lbs. That’s the most I’ve lost in a week so far! Usually, after having a good week, the next week isn’t so much. My tom is coming too. Not getting my hopes too far up, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try to have another good week!
Have a great weekend!
