It was another busy week. It ended up being very nice weather out and I took full advantage of it! My daughter participated in the high schools’ Jr. Olympics last Saturday and we had to be there for most of the day. I ended up not getting a workout in but did walk around the school quite a bit. She did well and placed 2nd in her sport for basketball. I thought it would be stressful for me but we ended up having a great time. It’s amazing what a positive attitude can do to your day. It helps with losing weight and becoming healthy as well. When the crazy days hit, viewing it as positively as possible helps to find solutions in a healthier way.
Anyway, to make up for missing Saturday, I made sure to get some late afternoon walks in and made sure to find the most hills I could to burn more. Hubby has been doing overtime every day for 2 weeks now. So, I’m just getting out there and enjoying the early evening weather. The sun stays out until 7ish now.
I saw tons of lizards out. I guess they love the warmer weather and sun as they are always bathing in it. I try not to scare them away. Haven’t seen them out in a long time so I am definitely feeling spring vibes all around. πΈ
I tried to find new areas to walk to keep me from getting bored. I do get nervous as I am alone so I do avoid the actual hiking trails. If hiking were safer, I would hike nonstop. It’s not though, so I stick to areas with neighbors and cars around just in case. There is a local hiking group that meets 3 times a week to hike. I have thought of joining many times but they usually like around dinner time when I cook. Still, if I am ever brave enough, I might just go with my daughter.π₯Ύπ
Not much else to report except that my monthly ‘friend’ came to visit early last night. It wasn’t supposed to come until Monday, so I was caught off guard for sure! I was afraid to weigh in but happy with the outcome. Down -0.6 down.
Not what I hoped, but considering the early surprise, I am ok with it. Looking into starting to add more strength training in my workouts eventually to help keep my weight loss going. I want to stay strong as well as become healthier. πͺ
Also, the dr. called with my blood test results from almost a month ago. Turns out, my cholesterol is up in the “at risk” range. I let her know I’m losing weight and walking and she was very pleased with that. She said I was definitely in the “high risk” range before I started losing. I will be doing a follow up check in 3 months so this will help keep me motivated to reach my goal. I am also using my wedding anniversary to motivate me too. It’s also about 3 months away. I probably won’t reach my actual goal weight by then, but I hope to be close to it! The dr said if I can keep it going down, I won’t need medicine. Hoping so!! π
That’s all for this week. Tomorrow is my daughter’s bday and there will be a get together with friends at the trampoline park. I’m going to try to burn some fun calories over there! Hope you have a great weekend!
