Reducing cravings and making plans

Well, a lot has happened in the past several weeks. Time just zoomed by. I am finally getting on track again. It hasn’t been good. I thought I had a handle on myself but ….nope. Well, a few things happened that jolted me back to reality.

A friend of mine invited my daughter and me to do a mud run in September for a good deal so,

I thought, why not? I signed us up and it’s right at the end of the month/start of October which is around the time I’d like to hit a big goal. Not my final goal weight, but a fairly close goal. It won’t be easy, but I have done it before and know I can do it again.
Another thing that happened that is pushing me….I checked my blood pressure. It’s high. I have never had high blood pressure in my life. It was a big red flag and alert to me that I need to get into gear. I’m only in my 30s, but I’m not getting any younger and I need to get my health in check. I want to be able to stay at a healthy weight and maintain it. I don’t want to yo-yo like this anymore. It’s just so unhealthy.
So, what things am I doing to correct this? This week, I’m focusing on reducing my eating. I did get a good workout day on Tuesday but out of nowhere, my daughter got sick. I’m so paranoid I’ll get sick and this weekend is super busy so I chickened out on doing workouts. I know I should push forward but I just can’t afford to miss the events this weekend.
So I’m focusing more on my eating. Drinking tea as much as possible and liquids.
Today, I started getting super hungry and instead of grabbing a meal or snack, I just got a handful of pistachios. It hit the spot! I remember last time when I reached my goal weight, pistachios helped so much with my appetite throughout the day. Also, coffee. But coffee can make me feel awful so I’m trying to find alternatives. Decaf works ok but it’s not always available.
Anyways, I’m going to end this here. I have a little over 5 months to hit my first big goal and do the mud run. I’ll be documenting it through posts and blogs. I was thinking of making podcasts or something too when I don’t have time to type, just to keep myself accountable. We’ll see what I come up with!
Until then! It’s Thursday, almost Friday- have a great day!
